Mount Kellett is the third highest peak in Hong Kong Island, with a height of 501 meters. The name comes form the British Royal Navy Vice Admiral Henry Kellett, the captain of HMS Starling in the 19th century. Mount Kellett is not included in the country park area, and most of the area have been developed to private properties, only small paths to the summit, thus Mount Kellett is not a popular place for hiking.

Get off at Mount Kellett Road bus stop

Walk back and walk the right side

Turn right at Homestead Road

Walk along Mount Kellett Road

Turn left at the fork of No. 54 – 60 Mount Kellett Road

At the end of service road, a small house in white colour there, walk toward the path beside the house
(The path has been closed since 2022, it needs to walk other small paths to the summit of Mount Kellett)

Turn left at this fork to the Trigonometrical Stations of Mount Kellett

As the official staircase to the summit is closed, it need to access the summit by unpaved paths

Back track to return Mount Kellett Road, both sides can go back the Peak Road
In order to avoiding back track, I turned left this time

Turned right and walked the staircase to Hong Kong University in this time

Turn left at this fork

Follow the waysigns to Hatton Road

Queen Mary Hospital

Then follow the waysigns to Pokfield Road

Turn left at this fork

Come to an end at the Hong Kong University
