Cheung Yan Shan is located on the east of Lautau Peak, with the height of 443 meters, a boulder called “Cheung Yan Rock on the summit. Cheung Yan Shan is not a popular, but it has an official hiking trail to connect South Lantau Country Trail and Lantau Trail. In this blog, it will introduce another unpopular ridge Pak Fung Cheung, there is an abandoned trigonometrical Station with a height of 400 meters. The overall difficulty is moderate for this route, but the ridge of Pak Fung Cheung is not official, it is suggested to walk accompanied with experience leaders.

Get off at Pak Kung Au, walk toward the Lantau Peak first

It does not walk the Lantau Trail this time, walk to the South Lantau Country Trail on the left side of the toilet

Follow the waysign of South Lantau Country Trail

Then change to the direction of Lantau Peak to Cheung Yan Shan

Walk toward Lantau Peak afterward

Turn left after meeting up the Lantau Trail

It would not walk to the summit of Lantau Peak this time
It will be downslope after attaining the first peak in the photo

At the distance post L022 (the top of Ngau Tong Shan), change to walk small dirt path of Pak Fung Cheung Ridge

The path of Pak Fung Cheung Ridge is clear, and the inclination is moderate

An abandoned trigonometrical Station of Pak Fung Cheung, with a height of 400 meters

Meet up the Tei Tong Chai Country Trail, turn right to Pak Kung Au
It would turn left to Shek Mun Kap in this blog

Follow the waysign to Tung Chung Town

Shek Mun Kap, there is a bus stop to Tung Chung Town Center, but the bus frequency is very low. It is suggested to keep walking to Tung Chung.

Turn left at Tung Chung Road

Come to an end at Yat Tung Estate
Walking to Tung Chung is another consideration, it needs about 20 minutes
